Imagine.

You wake up feeling light. The constant buzz of stress has softened, and instead of rushing through your day, you move with clarity and ease. You experience an upwelling of patience.

You understand yourself and feel seen. The tension you once carried no longer weighs you down, and you feel like a better parent, partner, friend, colleague.

Nature Therapy: More Than Just a Walk Outside

What is Forest Bathing?

Forest bathing, also known as Shinrin Yoku, is a research-based nature practice originating in Japan in the 1980s to combat rising stress and chronic illness in a rapidly urbanizing society.

During a session, participants move slowly through a designated 'bathing forest', engaging their senses with gentle support from a trained guide.

A growing field of scientific research highlights the health benefits of forest bathing. Time in a forest setting has been shown to lower stress hormones like cortisol, reduce blood pressure and heart rate, support physiological balance and much more.

The goal is individual wellbeing.

It's everything forest bathing is, AND more. While Forest Bathing centers on sensory awareness and physical wellbeing, Nature Therapy expands your experience beyond the individual health benefits.

In my sessions you’ll receive the benefits of forest bathing and experience the practice of evidence based relational (reciprocal) therapy where we greet nature as a living partner and not just a setting.

Key elements include:

  • Sensory invitations to introduce relational engagement

  • A non-judgmental, inclusive space

  • A walking pace that supports nervous system regulation

  • A guide who holds the structure while letting meaning emerge naturally

As your guide, I provide you with direction and facilitate your experience.

What is Nature Therapy?

All sessions flow from an established framework, tailored as needed to fit the group, location, and season, including online sessions.

Session Structure

First

Introductions & Orientation

We begin with a greeting, acknowledgement of the land, and simple awareness practices to ease into the rhythm of the session.

Third

Relational Prompts & Sharing

You’ll receive my signature guidance to practice reciprocity, followed by optional sharing in a calm, respectful group.

Second

Facilitated Awareness Shift

Then, I transition you from daily life into presence through guided sensory awareness, gently waking up sight, sound, touch, scent, and breath.

Fourth

Closing the Experience

Ending with a moment to reflect and transition, we give your body and mind space to integrate before returning to the day.

Sessions last 90–120 minutes. You’ll be welcomed into a gentle, safe space where you’re free to show up just as you are. You’ll receive guided invitations to engage your senses at a natural, unhurried pace. Some moments are shared; others are quiet and reflective. All moments are worth it.
